$12.00

This listing is for one, eighteen page .pdf (electronic) pattern of six designs.

Would you like to snuggle with your honey under a sweet, handmade valentine quilt, or perhaps you'd like to make something a little bit smaller like a cute wall hanging or a mug rug that expresses your love? If so, this set of six valentine block patterns is just what you need to whip up some quilty gifts for everyone!

1. Cupid. This heart shaped arrow head is sure to snag its recipient with its pointy barb.

2. Pucker. Big lips, for even bigger kisses.

3. Hugs. A classic "O" block to let someone know that a hug from them is soooo good!

4. Kisses. Hug's partner, the "X", the universal symbol for lip smacking.

5, Heart. A classic symbol of love.

6. S.W.A.K. For "Sealed with a kiss", a simple little envelope with a heart shaped seal.

These are original quilt blocks designed by Barbara Cain. They each measure 8'' x 8'' when finished. They are designed for paper piecing however, they can be traditionally pieced as well.

If you do piece traditionally, simply cut apart each of the pattern pieces and corresponding fabrics adding a 1/4" seam allowance to each side. It is important to be super accurate with cutting as some of the pieces are very tiny. Sew the pieces together with 1/4'' seams just as you would with any other patchwork. Be sure to sew the pieces together in order, i.e., start with piece A1, then attach A2, A3, etc.. Once you connect all of the A pieces, do the same with the B pieces, etc.., then sew A onto B, and so on.

If you are a paper piecer, you know what to do!

If you are new to paper piecing and want to give it a try, you can download a free paper piecing tutorial and practice pattern from my blog. Just paste this path into your browser and you'll arrive at the blog post and Dropbox link for downloading:
