As seen in Modern Patchwork Winter 2016!
Wouldn't you just love to make this Tartan Quilt? Tartan weaves, also known as plaids, originated hundreds of years ago and were used to make blankets and clothing. Today, tartans remain at the height of popularity, so much so, that it seems fitting to commemorate them in our era of modern quilting. The basic construction method used for this 81’’ x 81’’ modern tartan quilt is strip cutting and strip piecing. Although complicated in appearance, this quilt comes together with relative ease. This sample is made using a cherry palette of Kona Cotton Solids and Essex Linens by Robert Kaufman Fabrics. The color selections used are listed in the pattern.
If you would you like a custom colored Tartan Quilt design to match your clan, your favorite colors or your decor, I’ll select Kona Cotton Solid colors for you as a complementary service when you purchase my Tartan Quilt Pattern. I’ll also make you a cute little drawing of your custom selections for review and approval. Just drop me a line if you’re interested!
